We are opening a MSc Dissertation topic for 2020-2021 to study the diversity and genetic structure of the populations of two invasive alien species in the Ria de Aveiro, in order to identify potential pathways of introduction and possible connectivity between populations of the extended Iberian Margin (including the Gulf of Biscay). The results of this study will contribute to the management of entry routes into the Ria de Aveiro and potential control or eradication of these species. The MSc student will do mainly laboratory work, in the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) and Department of Biology, with occasional field trips to collect additional specimens. Contact us if you are interested in joining the team!
