
CREPIDULA project
The CREPIDULA project will contribute to understand the invasion process and current stage of the American slipper limpet Crepidula fornicata (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Ria de Aveiro coastal lagoon, located in the Atlantic North West coast of Portugal.

To achieve that it will focus on several aspects and lines of evidence, namely:

​DURATION
Officially funded for the period August 2019 - July 2020 (extended to July 2021).
​
The project is however ongoing and being maintained by our team and collaborations, adding new knowledge to the invasion process of the species in this southern European coastal region.
FUNDING
This project received funding from the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) of the University of Aveiro, under its starting grant programme for newly integrated researchers, to Heliana Teixeira (5000 €).

It also received funding through FCT "Verão com Ciência 2022" programme, supporting students research training.
