CREPIDULA project

The CREPIDULA project will contribute to understand the invasion process and current stage of the American slipper limpet Crepidula fornicata (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Ria de Aveiro coastal lagoon, located in the Atlantic North West coast of Portugal.

To achieve that it will focus on several aspects and lines of evidence, namely:

​

  • the species characteristics | link

  • the local introduction history | link

  • the invaded niche | link

  • the life-cycle | link

  • the impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services | link

​DURATION

August 2019 - July 2020 (extended to July 2021)

FUNDING

This project received funding from the Centre for Environmental and marine Studies (CESAM), under its starting grant programme for newly integrated researchers, to Heliana Teixeira (5000 €).
